Laser Hair Brush and Laser Hair Therapy – Facts You Need to Know

Baldness or Androgenic Alopecia

Baldness or Androgenic Alopecia

Baldness is a condition that affects 70 percent of men and 40 percent of women.  Androgenic alopecia is the most common form of hair loss in both sexes.  It is characterized by hair receding from the temple and above the forehead in men, while diffuse hair thinning occurs around the hairline and crown area of the scalp in women.  However, female pattern baldness rarely becomes more pronounced and noticeable as male pattern baldness.

Various hair treatments are offered to encourage hair regrowth and prevent hairline recession.  The different types of hair loss solutions include hair transplant surgery, topical solutions, oral medications, hair camouflage, and laser hair therapy.  The latter is said to be the most effective form of preventing and reversing baldness.

Laser hair therapy (or LHT) is a non-invasive and non-chemical method of treating baldness in both sexes.  This treatment is based on the scientific principle of bio-stimulation.  It is designed to deliver cold-beam lasers to the affected area of the scalp.  LHT generates 110 – 160 therapeutic soft low-level lasers that speed up blood flow to the scalp, which encourages hair follicles to continuously produce hair.

Low level laser combs are used to elicit a biological cellular response that will result in accelerated cell growth and promote tissue repair.  Placing the device directly on to the target tissue can help increase blood circulation to that area by 54 percent, which can hasten hair restoration and halt excessive hair loss.  LHT also provides a complete hair treatment that strengthens hair and keeps the scalp healthy.

Low level laser procedure is an FDA-approved hair loss treatment that is safe and effective.  There have been no reported serious side effects to date.  Results of the treatment depend on a number of factors, including the rate of hair loss, as well as the length of time a patient has been experiencing hairline recession.  Addressing the problem of baldness during its early stages should revitalize existing hair structures and reactivate damaged or dormant hair follicles.

Different Brands of Laser Hair Brush

Different Brands of Laser Hair Brush

Most laser hair therapy solutions are developed to provide portability and convenience.  LHT devices are a cost-effective way to fight hair loss, because the patient can do away with regular clinic visits that will incur additional treatment costs. The laser hair brush allows men and women to conduct hair loss treatment in the privacy of their own homes, with optimal results.

There are a variety of laser hair brush devices available on the market.  Some of the most popular brands of LHT solutions are Nutreve Personal Hair Therapy Laser Hair Brush, Hairmax Lux 9 Hair Growth LaserComb, and Viatek HairPro Laser Hair Brush.  Each brand comes with its own unique features, but all are designed to effectively reconstruct the hair shaft structure and reverse hair loss.

Nutreve Personal Hair Therapy Laser is a portable hand-held laser device that facilitates at-home hair loss treatment.  It comes with an ergonomic design to contour naturally to bald areas on the hairline and the crown of the scalp.  This personal laser provides direct to scalp contact that irradiates the affected areas with 35 – 650nm laser diodes.

The Personal Hair Therapy Laser Combs feature pulse wave technology, which utilizes pulse wave energy to effectively deliver low-level laser light to the entire scalp and penetrate Keratin fibers in human hair.  Pulse wave technology emits energy rays in short bursts that allows the device to irradiate scalp cells without burning or damaging the skin surface.

HairMax Lux 9 Hair Growth LaserComb utilizes laser phototherapy to successfully curtail hair loss and promote hair regeneration by revitalizing weakened hair follicles.  The laser light increases adenosine triphosphate (or ATP) within hair follicles that encourage production of healthy hair.  Low-level laser light also helps improve blood flow and circulation in the scalp that can help eradicate harmful hormones such as DHT, which are responsible for hair loss.

The HairMax LaserComb comes with a unique hair parting feature that provides a clear pathway for the laser light energy to successfully penetrate the affected area of the scalp.  The device’s patented hair-parting mechanism is designed to allow for optimal irradiation in order to achieve maximum results.  Aside from promoting significant hair growth, the HairMax LaserComb also helps increase density and thickness of hair, and dramatically reduces shedding.

The Viatek HairPro Laser Hair Brush incorporates dual technology of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and LED stimulating therapy (LEDT) to provide the maximum delivery of laser light energy to the scalp.  This hand-held laser hair treatment device features 660 cold wide beam laser transmitters, to effectively penetrate and massage the affected areas.

The Laser HairPro Laser Hair Treatment consists of two series of 36 LED stimulators, that provide a consistent and synchronized wave of laser light energy that is necessary in stimulating hair regrowth and preventing further hair loss.  A healthier scalp and richer, fuller hair are the end result of using the Viatek HairPro Laser Hair Brush.

The most innovative laser hair therapy systems come with a countdown timer and rechargeable ion batteries.  They are clinically proven to effectively enliven hair follicles that can elicit new hair growth in men and women.  Studies show a 93 percent chance of treating hair loss and thinning, as well as improving overall condition of the scalp.

The recommended individual treatment of laser hair regrowth therapy is three times a week for an average of 15 – 45 minutes per use.  With consistent use, most users experience increased hair growth within five to six weeks, while some users start seeing fantastic results within six months.

Laser hair treatment is an affordable and cost-effective approach to addressing male or female pattern baldness.  Many users who tried laser hair combs were skeptical at first, but immediate results after consistent use made them recommend investing in laser hair therapy systems to people who are also battling against hair loss and thinning.  Product users testify that their hair looks healthier, thicker, and shinier.

Laser Hair Comb as Hair Loss Treatment – A New Effective Approach

Many Americans, men and women, experience hair loss, and most of them are searching for the most effective hair loss treatments. There are many products on the market that promise to solve hair loss problems. Some of them are effective, while others are not.

Lately, there is a new product invented to treat hair loss effectively: Laser Hair Comb or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). Laser Hair Therapy is a painless, chemical-free, non-invasive treatment for hair loss. Learn all about this new hair restoration therapy by reading this article.

The Relationship between Lasers and Hair Growth

For many decades, lasers have been used in different types of medical modalities. In dermatology, for example, lasers are used to resurface the skin. A special type of laser creates a wound on top of a layer of skin in order to initiate the growth of a fresh new skin layer from underneath. Lasers are also used as treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, as an aide for wound healing and as an adjunct to various liposuction procedures.

Today, there are now advanced types of lasers that take a “wound-less” approach. The lasers used in Laser Hair Comb are of these kinds of lasers. With this hair loss treatment device, there is neither cutting nor any burning sensation. The lasers on this device merely shine on the scalp.

It was in the 60s and 70s when the relationship between low level lasers and hair growth was first discovered. In that time, there were many studies conducted to evaluate the effects of low level lasers on living tissues. In one study, the researchers experimented by applying lasers to patients that had leg ulcers. Surprisingly, they found that hair growth started in the areas treated by the low level lasers. After further studies, they have concluded that low level lasers stimulate the growth of hair follicles.

How Does The Hair Regrowth Laser Work?

The laser hair comb uses a low level laser therapy that has been tested and proven to stimulate increased blood flow in the area it is applied to. Good blood flow to the scalp is necessary in the hair restoration process, because blood is the medium by which the hair receives the nutrients that it needs to grow healthy.

Moreover, the comb’s red light lasers travel into several layers of the scalp tissue without harming it. This therapeutic light is the absorbed by the cells and it stimulates them to produce energy. This process of stimulating the production of energy at the cellular level improves the cell function. Damaged or dying hair follicles are consequently repaired.

Which Hair Rejuvenator Laser Comb Should You Use?

There are actually various brands of laser hair comb to choose from. Which one is the best? The most popular laser hair rejuvenator combs on the market include HairMax Laser Comb, Sunetics Laser Hair Brush and Viatek LB01 HairPro Dual Technology Laser Hair Treatment. Here is a brief discussion of each product:

  1. HairMax Laser Comb. This is the most popular brand of laser hair comb. This is the first brand to be authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which means that this laser comb is indeed reliable. In as early as 3 months of consistent use, results can be observed. People who use the product say that they experience thicker and healthier hair.

Although this brand is the most expensive one, many satisfied customers testify that it is worth every cent. Moreover, they offer a thirty day period money back guarantee. That’s an assurance that this product does what it says it can do.

  2. Sunetics Laser Hair Brush. This product comes half the price of HairMax Laser Comb, but is not as easily obtainable. Many people say that Sunetics is a lot more powerful than many other laser hair combs because of the amount of laser modules that it produces. But many doubt this because the product only has one row of lasers and many critiques have said that the device is unstable. Moreover, the fact that it only has one row of lasers means that you would have to spend a longer time combing your hair with it compared to other products. Many customers who use the product have observed results as early as 5 months of use.
  3. Viatek LB01 HairPro Dual Technology Laser Hair Treatment. Among the 3 brands mentioned here, this is the least costly. This product is one of the most efficient laser hair brushes on the market, but has received mixed reviews from customers claiming that it worked excellently or not at all. Among the 3 products mentioned in this article, this product takes longest before one can see results. This is why some customers use this laser hair therapy together with other hair loss products. If used together with other hair loss treatment products, results can be seen around 2 to 3 months.

How to Use a Laser Hair Therapy Comb?

Laser Hair Comb products can be used at home. These products generally have directions for use. Most of these laser hair rejuvenator combs are battery operated. Once you have the batteries placed, simply turn the device on and hold the teeth of the comb against your scalp. Each manufacturer has suggested length of time that you should hold it against your scalp for. Usually, it’s around 4 to 5 seconds. Then you move the comb to the next spot on your scalp at a distance of 1 inch from the first spot. Repeat the process until you have combed your entire scalp. The whole process usually takes around 15-20 minutes. For best results, you should use your laser hair comb at least 3 times a week and make sure that you follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully to avoid any untoward side effects.

Besides consistent use of the device, it is best if you continue to keep your hair healthy by taking the necessary vitamins for strong and healthy hair, and avoid the use of any harmful hair products and hair treatments.

Remedies for Female Hair loss After Childbirth

HAIR THINNING2Women have to deal with many changes after they give birth. There are different changes in their weight, body, moods, and even their hair. A surprisingly large number of women — around 40-50% according to the American Pregnancy Association –  experience thinning of their hair, sometimes in the course of weeks or several months while others notice a considerably balder spot on their head after just a couple of days.

This condition is called postpartum alopecia and it is one of the many reasons for hair loss in women. Postpartum alopecia is usually caused by a drastic change in a woman’s estrogen levels.  You see, when women are pregnant and their estrogen is at a good, high level, their hair is thick, lustrous, and shiny.

However, after giving birth, these estrogen levels take a nosedive causing hair to fall out. Typically, this post-partum hair loss occurs at the third or fifth month. Although hair loss can be expected to continue, it is not permanent. Hair volume should return to normal once estrogen levels stabilize. In the meantime, let’s look at some tips for hair regrowth in women and consider some women’s hair loss treatments.

Effective Tips to Combat Hair Loss in Women After Childbirth

First, it would be good to consult your doctor about how you can maintain healthy levels of the hormones in your body, especially estrogen, since this is the key hormone that would prevent hair loss for women.

Another tip would be to check your diet and stress levels. Consume more foods that are rich in flavonoids and antioxidants, such as fruits and vegetables. This will not only provide your hair with damage protection, but also stimulate hair regrowth. Consider also the use of diet supplements, especially Vitamin B complex, vitamin C, and vitamin A.

NUTREVE CONDITIONERNow, if you are thinking of using one of the many volumizing shampoos that are out in the market, look for one that contains amino acids which will help hair regrowth. One of the most effective hair loss products for women is the Nutreve Nutritional Conditioner which contains important minerals and amino acids that penetrate the hair shaft. Using this product will result in stronger and more elastic hair strands.

After shampooing and conditioning, comb your hair gently using a wide-toothed comb to avoid damage and breakage. It would be great too if you try a new hairstyle, staying away from tight ponytails or buns which could damage and weaken your hair strands.

Stress – One of the Common Causes of Female Hair Loss

These days people from all walks of life who live a fast-paced life get stressed from time to time. Stress becomes a regular part of our daily life. You might have heard that it can cause excessive hair loss, especially in women. The most common causes of stress in women are death of a spouse or child, divorce, pressure at work, severe illness, major surgery, childbirth, and financial problems.

When a person experiences extreme stress, the body discharges adrenaline which conducts a signal to the hair follicles. This will cause an early resting phase of the hair follicles due to changes in the normal cycle of hair.

CHECK OUT THE BEST HAIR LOSS SOLUTION FOR YOU!A medical condition which involves hair loss due to physical or emotional stress is called telogen effluvium and may take 6-12 months to reverse. Affected hairs of people experiencing this condition may fall out easily when washing or combing hair.

Another common type of female hair loss associated with high stress levels is alopecia areata. Stress is a major factor that triggers women’s hair loss in those who are predisposed to losing their hair. It contributes to thinning of hair in women by causing blood vessels in the hair roots to contract.

Hair usually falls out for roughly 3 weeks which normally creates a small, round patch. If the stressful event continues, it can affect the entire head or scalp and can sometimes even lead to loss of body hair.

The Best Remedies for Women Hair Loss

Once we manage the underlying causes of hair loss, it is possible to restore the hair growth cycle to its finest condition by using effective hair loss treatments for women. Keep in mind that with so many products and treatments for hair loss in women available on the market, it best to consult with your doctor.

If you determine that stress is the perpetrator, it is best to change your lifestyle and find some ways and means to somehow get rid of stress. There are proper stress management techniques that you can follow to prevent hair loss.

Effective Female Hair Loss Solution for Women’s Hair Loss

Hair loss is a condition that affects not only men, but also women.  Statistics show that forty percent of individuals who are suffering from hair loss in the United States are women.  Baldness can be more psychologically damaging to women than men.  This can lead to decreased self-esteem, image problems, depression and anxiety.  It can profoundly affect their social well-being as well.

Women's Hair Loss

Women’s Hair Loss

Common causes of women’s hair loss are androgenic alopecia, telogen effluvium, anagen effluvium, and traction alopecia.  Androgenic alopecia is a form of hereditary female pattern baldness that causes diffuse thinning on the scalp.  This condition can be brought about by a number of factors such as menopause, the action of androgen hormones, and ovarian cysts.

Telogen effluvium is a scalp disorder that is triggered by extreme emotional or psychological stress that disrupts the hair cycle, resulting in the shedding or thinning of hair over the entire scalp.  This condition usually occurs after child birth, after going through a major surgery, or it can be due to dietary deficiency.

Anagen effluvium is a hair loss condition caused by exposure to radiation therapy and systemic chemotherapy.  Traction alopecia is a scalp condition commonly associated with tight pulling hairstyles, such as cornrows, braiding, tight ponytails, and extensions.

There are several products for female hair loss solution available in the market that can help treat or prevent female pattern hair loss.  Some of these hair loss solutions are minoxidil, surgical treatment, and laser hair therapy.

Minoxidil, marketed under the brand name Rogaine, is the only FDA-approved treatment for female pattern baldness.  Experts believe that minoxidil helps reduce hair loss and stimulates hair growth.  This topical solution is applied directly to the scalp twice a day to encourage hair follicles to grow.  Moderate hair growth is visible after 8 months of continuous treatment.

Another female hair loss solution is surgical treatment.  Hair surgical transplantation is an invasive procedure that involves harvesting individual hair follicles from an area of the body called a donor site, which are then moved to the balding parts of the scalp.  A donor site is usually found on the side and back areas of the scalp.  Surgical hair restoration is considered a permanent solution for male and female pattern baldness.

Laser Hair Therapy - Female Hair Loss Products by Nutreve

Laser Hair Therapy – Female Hair Loss Products by Nutreve

Laser hair therapy is a non-invasive treatment for women’s hair loss.  This treatment helps stimulate the growth of hair follicles through the direct application of low level laser therapy on the balding or thinning areas of the scalp.  Experts believe that laser therapy treatment encourages blood circulation to the treated area that results in hair regrowth and even halts hair loss.

Since low level lasers do not generate heat, low level laser therapy is referred to as cold lasers.  It emits low intensity light energy that can elicit biological and cellular stimulation.  Low level diode laser increases the production of adenosine triphosphate, which is the component responsible for carrying energy to cells.

The aforementioned female hair loss products give women who suffer from female pattern baldness a chance to reclaim their self-esteem and confidence, as well as live a healthy social life.

Major Causes for Hair Loss in Women

Know the causes of hair thinning and hair loss!Women of this generation in all walks of life suffer the most when it comes to hair loss. With noxious hair products eliciting bad condition of the scalp, the results are thinning of hair in women, hair growth stopping, alopecia, and partial or full baldness.

Normal hair comes loose at a rate of about 50-100 strands a day. Based on research, the causes of hair loss have been located mainly in our life style, medical reasons, food habits, and some diseases. But, with extra care and change in our life style or habits, we can eradicate the factors causing female hair loss.

What are the Common Causes of Female Hair Loss?

Genetics
Genetics are the most commonly quoted causes of hair loss. If your family members or relatives have lineage of baldness or thinning of hair, then you most likely inherit the genetic cause of your hair fall. This certainty has no lack of confirmation with this finding since it has been quite apparent for some even now.

Malnutrition or Improper Diet
Another reason is malnutrition. Women are branded as apprehensive with how they look. However, the deficiency in vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients when you have an improper diet will most likely result in lack of nourishment needed by the cells to feed the hairs.

Pregnancy & Child Birth
Pregnancy and child birth can also cause hair loss because women are most likely defenseless to mineral deficiencies. They may also not get the nutrients needed for hair growth.

Stress
Furthermore, with the effects of the modern day life style, stress is a common feeling that we encounter every day. Women are said to be more susceptible to stress than men.

Causes of stress in women include menopausal, pre-menstrual, and post-partum changes. With stress and anxiety, women’s scalp conditions will most likely be non-responsive, causing abnormal hair growth.

Styling Hair Products
In this generation, women can’t live without styling their hair. Women have grown very insecure about their hair. They are prominent in using various hair products like hair sprays which could leave non-organic materials on their hair. Hair products are chemically treated which will have an antagonistic effect on your scalp. Harmful chemicals are commonly found in hair dyes and artificial straighteners.

These are the scary truths on how hair loss in women happens. After reading this blog, you might want to try to change your life style before it’s too late. With the change in your life style or habits, you can surely have a gorgeous and thick mane of hair.

Medication Can Cause Disturbing Side Effects, Like Hair Loss and Thinning Hair

Medication Side Effect – Womens Hair LossMedications prescribed by doctors sometimes can be loaded with side effects. You should talk to your doctor regarding any possible side effects for any medications you are taking or that he/she suggests you begin taking. This way you can make an informed decision about whether or not the risk is worth the gain.

What Does This Mean for Me?

A possible side effect can be hair loss and thinning hair in women. It can and will affect women in more than one way, as the thinning hair and hair loss caused by the medication can generate stress and depression. This in turn can cause even more hair loss. The cycle can be vicious unless we actively do something to break it.

There are Things You Can Do to Fight Thinning Hair and Hair Loss Caused by Medication

You can take certain steps to slow down or maybe even stop hair loss that is caused by your medication. I have listed some of the possibilities below, and have included important information you can use to help you and your doctor figure out if the hair loss you’re experiencing is caused by your medication.

Knowing Which Medications Can Cause Hair Loss is the First Step…

Knowledge is the first and most important step in determining the cause of your hair loss. It will help guide you in the right direction, and even help you figure out which treatment options might work for you. Listed here are some medication types that are known to cause hair loss and thinning hair in women as a side effect of taking them:

  • Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs (including non-steroidal ones)
  • Antidepressants
  • Antifungals
  • Anti-inflammatory drugs (including non-steroidal)
  • Beta-blockers (such as meds used in treating glaucoma)
  • Blood pressure medication (and other heart meds)
  • Blood thinners (anticoagulants)
  • Chemotherapy drugs (often lead to anagen effluvium hair loss)
  • Cholesterol lowering medications
  • Medication for gout
  • Medication for thyroid issues
  • Medication with hormones in them (like birth control and steroids)
  • Parkinson’s Disease medications
  • Seizure medications
  • Vitamin A containing acne medications
  • Weight loss and diet pills (amphetamine based pills)

I created this list to help you save some frustration and time. Hopefully this will help you at least be more informed and give you an idea of what to discuss with your doctor regarding possible side effects and your medication, and whether or not they could be causing or contributing to your hair loss.

Here’s What You Can Do About Medications Related Hair Loss and Thinning Hair…

Once you have decided that your medication is either what is causing your hair loss or is just making it worse, then you can answer the call to action! It is highly likely that after stopping or changing your medication, that your hair loss will stop and the hair will regrow. If not, or if stopping or changing your medication is not an option, then there is still hope and help available. Hair loss treatments can be applied, like low-level laser hair therapy either in-clinic or at home, (pill form) supplements you can take, topical creams/lotions applied to the scalp/hair, etc. (I will definitely go into these treatments further in future writings.)

For Thinning Hair in Women – What’s In the Box?

Later on I will talk to you about the physical causes of hair thinning and hair loss for women, and all the treatments that can be applied to correct this type of hair loss.

Hair Restoration – What are the Different Women Hair Loss Treatment?

Reasons for Hair Loss in Women

Reasons for Hair Loss in Women

There are a number of women who suffer from loss of hair or bald spots.  Female pattern baldness usually occurs when a woman reaches menopause, although in some cases it can happen at the onset of puberty.  The emotional impact of hair loss in women is far greater compared to men, so much so that it affects their confidence and quality of life.

The most common type of hair loss in both men and women is androgenic alopecia.   This condition is signified by the gradual loss of hair above the temple, or on the center of the scalp in men.  Female pattern baldness is characterized by hair loss at the midline part and it is followed by partial thinning of hair throughout the scalp.

There are numerous reasons for hair loss in women, including medication, a medical condition, hereditary factors, emotional distress, and exposure to traumatic events.  Although it is normal to shed hair on a regular basis, losing excessive amounts of hair can be alarming.  A visit to a dermatologist can help determine cause of and cure for the condition.

The Ludwig Classification is used by most clinicians to categorize female pattern balding.  It consists of three stages:  Type I pertains to mild thinning of hair; Type II describes significant hair loss at the part line and decreased hair volume; Type III indicates extensive hair loss characterized by a thin crown.

Women Hair Loss Treatment

Women Hair Loss Treatment

Various women hair loss treatment options are available to cure female pattern baldness.  The common form of treatment is through medication that includes the use of minoxidil, anti-androgens, and iron supplements.  Undergoing hair replacement surgery or laser hair therapy is another treatment option.

Minoxidil was initially introduced in the market as a cure for high blood pressure.  However, people who were taking this medication noticed hair growth in recent bald spots.  Studies confirmed that continuous application of minoxidil to the scalp can help stimulate the growth of hair follicles.  In order to maintain hair regrowth, it has to be applied consistently.  Minoxidil is the only women hair loss treatment with FDA approval.

Anti-androgen drugs are designed to block male hormones responsible for hair and skin problems in women.  Although there has been no conclusive research to prove its efficacy, it is said that anti-androgen drugs help in minimizing thinning and shedding of hair.

Lack of iron in the system may also be one of the reasons for hair loss in women.  For women whose iron levels are below 70 nanograms per milliliter, taking iron supplements is highly recommended.

Hair Restoration for Women

Hair Restoration for Women

Hair replacement surgery is the only permanent treatment in hair restoration for women.  It uses a procedure called follicular unit transplantation, wherein a small section of the scalp is removed and then transplanted to a bald spot.

Low level laser therapy (or LLLT) is a form of treatment that is non-invasive and painless.  It is the latest option in hair restoration for women.  This device emits diodes that help facilitate hair regrowth.  A handheld version of this equipment is being marketed for home and personal use.
